Employment in Southeast Texas improved in March as most job categories posted strong gains compared with the previous month and the same period a year ago. Figures from the Texas Workforce Commission show the unemployment rate for Southeast Texas stood at 7.2 percent for March, down almost a full percentage point from February's rate of 9.1 percent.
